Is the video true about how a Ukrainian received a summons to join the army along with a letter of gratitude from the Armed Forces of Ukraine?

At the beginning of February 2024, a video circulated on social networks, the author of which allegedly received a strange message from the Ukrainian army. We checked how plausible this information is.

In the 18-second Ukrainian-language video, the person behind the scenes shows two documents that came to him together: a letter of gratitude from the Armed Forces of Ukraine for his donations to the needs of the army and a summons to the military registration and enlistment office.

The video was widely circulated on social networks. In particular, it was shared on Telegram by the channels “Live broadcast"(672,000 views at the time of writing this analysis), "Ne.Sugar"(290,000), Colonelcassad (254,000), "Russia now"(248,000), "Truthfulness" (210,000) and "Putin on Telegram"(165,000).

Viral video about the agenda

Donations from individuals play a significant role in supporting the Ukrainian army - according to data The National Bank of the country, as of February 1, 2024, an account specially opened for this purpose received donations from different countries in the amount of about 35 billion UAH ($930 million). Numerous charitable foundations also raise money for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, until now it was not known about the practice of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to send departmental thanks for donations to ordinary citizens by mail, because it is not always possible to determine the name of the sender from a money transfer, not to mention his home address. Moreover, “Verified” found no signs of the spread of the viral video outside the Russian-language segment of the Internet and, in particular, in the Ukrainian media and online communities.

Let’s take a closer look at the paper, which in the video is called “Gratitude from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.” The order “On departmental incentive insignia of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine” contains description And sketch document with the same title. It says, in particular:

The front side of the gratitude is a plane with a flow from light blue to light yellow, framed by a yellow frame against a dark blue granite pattern. The frame is formed by an ornament, on both sides of which there are parallel lines.

In the upper part of the plane there is a small state emblem of Ukraine, on both sides of which there is a background image of figured ribbons of two equal stripes (the upper one is blue, the lower one is yellow). Below are the inscriptions “Ministry of Defense of Ukraine” (“Ministry of Defense of Ukraine”) and “podyaka” (“gratitude”) in yellow letters. At the bottom of the plane there may be an inscription with the number and date of the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on awarding gratitude. The letters and numbers in the inscription are black.

As you can see, the paper from the viral video violates almost all the rules for processing documents of this type in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. In addition, there is no seal on it, and the military unit with code A7512 and its commander Dmitry Zarubin are not mentioned in open sources. The compilers did not do without grammatical errors. Yes, according to rules Ukrainian grammar, “you” when addressing one person, like the first word in the combination “Zbroinі sili Ukrayiny”, must be written with a capital letter, and “zasobiv” (means) - through i, and not through “and”.

Let's turn now to the agenda. In 2021, military commissariats will be replaced in Ukraine came Territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC and SP). Accordingly, the same law renamed the military commissars into the leaders of the TCC and SP. However, a document from a viral video allegedly filmed in 2024 mentions both outdated concepts.

There are many other agenda discrepancies state samplelike this:

  • incorrect application number with the template (24 instead of 11);
  • the name of the military commissar in the field intended for the date of delivery of the summons;
  • lack of summons number;
  • lack of seal;
  • usage old the names of the city Kropyvnytskyi - Kirovograd.

Thus, neither the gratitude nor the summons from the video can be considered valid documents, regardless of their origin.

The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine also responded to the video. Reversing attention for a number of characteristic errors, they called the video a low-quality fake aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the TGStat service, this video was first posted on February 3 at 13:15 Moscow time by the Telegram channel “Bear" He was already mentioned in the “Verified” reviews as a distributor of fake photo And videorelated to Ukraine.
