Is this video about a passenger who predicted a possible plane crash true?

In the fall of 2025, a video went viral about a woman who, thanks to her paranormal abilities, allegedly discovered a malfunction of the airliner that was not identified during the pre-flight inspection. We have verified the accuracy of this video.

The video lasts about a minute, appeared September 28 on the YouTube channel Cryptic_phenomena, at the time of writing this analysis it received 1.4 million views. It was also published in Instagram. The voice-over states that the heroine of the video “saw something on the plane that changed the fate of all the passengers.” Allegedly, after boarding was completed, the woman jumped up from her seat and began to assure everyone that they urgently needed to leave the plane, because she had just seen phantom figures heading towards the bathrooms. The rest of the passengers got nervous and also jumped out of their seats, and even the cat “got out of the carrier in a panic.” The plane was then inspected by the police, but nothing suspicious was found. However, the woman insisted that something terrible might happen, and the flight was eventually cancelled. During the ensuing inspection, it turned out that the plane had a faulty landing gear, which theoretically could have led to a disaster. “Do you think it is necessary to prevent the natural course of events, even if you have the gift of clairvoyance?” — the authors ask themselves at the end of the video.

When you watch the video carefully, you will be struck by the variety of seats in the frame, although the video supposedly takes place on the same plane.

Screenshots of the viral video

After examining the screenshots using Google's reverse image search, Verified found that the video that went viral in the fall of 2025 was compiled from several earlier ones. It was based on a video posted in early July 2023 on TikTok (the original has been deleted, but remains copy, which also collected millions of views). In this video, a woman we already know walks through the cabin of an airplane with a purse on her shoulder and nervously shouts: “I’m telling you: I’m leaving, and there is a reason why I’m leaving. And everyone can believe in it or not believe it. I don't care, but I'm telling you, that bastard back there isn't real. And you can sit on this plane. And you can die with it or not. I'm not going to."

About a month later another one became popular video, filmed shortly before the first. On it, the same woman says: “Stop the damn plane!”, “Stop the plane!”, “I’m not going to.” The rest of the people on board try to calm her down.

At this point, media reports have already was knownthat the heroine of the video is 38-year-old American Tiffany Gomas, and the incident occurred on July 2, 2023, on an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Orlando. According to information received by the police, Gomas suspected one of the relatives flying with her of stealing her headphones. The woman then began to claim that the plane was unsafe and would not reach its destination. When the crew decided that the aircraft needed to be re-inspected, Gomas unexpectedly refused to leave the board, despite her previous tirades, and the airline staff had to escort her out. The woman was met by law enforcement officers at the boarding gate.

This information confirmed comedian Scott Thompson, who was on the same flight. He, like the rest of the passengers, had to leave the board due to the incident. “That’s why we’re all sitting here in damn Dallas right now, because she lost her headphones,” he said. In the next video, the comedian said that the woman “just lost her mind in front of the entire plane.” Thompson recorded that video after a safe landing in Orlando. “Verified” did not find any information in authoritative sources that during the inspection of the aircraft any serious defects were discovered and/or the aircraft was replaced.

Gomas herself, according to The Independent, tried to get on the plane again, refusing to talk with the police. Her attempts were in vain, after which the woman went home.

In November 2023, Gomas gave interview, in which she admitted that she got into a “small argument” with another passenger and “things got out of control.” “It wasn’t the best moment of my life... in fact, it was a terrible moment. Absolutely humiliating. How terribly humiliating,” she added. The woman also clarified that the words that social media users could perceive as indicating a ghost were actually addressed to the man with whom she was arguing: “I literally didn’t see anything. It was a figure of speech." However, Gomas attracted the attention of the media for many months - she became a heroine podcasts And notes in the American tabloids.

As for other videos, fragments of which were included in the viral video, the episode with the Bengal cat climbing onto the head of the chair was taken from viral publications 2022. Footage of panicking passengers was cut from, apparently, staged video, published in two parts at the beginning of 2025 - its heroes were “scared” by a hedgehog that climbed into the cabin of the plane.

Thus, a viral video is a compilation of unrelated videos. It was based on a recording of an incident two years ago, during which a passenger who lost her headphones on a plane had a nervous breakdown.

The description of the YouTube channel Cryptic_phenomena says that its author creates content related to unexplained phenomena, anomalous zones, interesting facts and scientific data. Clickbait videos are very popular—they have been viewed more than 240 million times in a year and a half. Misinformation spread by bloggers also attracts the attention of fact checkers - for example, the Vox Ukraine project recently sorted it out his video about the dangers of the Azov Sea.
