In September 2025, a photograph allegedly taken at a state banquet in honor of the American president's visit to the UK went viral on social media. We have verified the authenticity of this photo.
The viral image shows King Charles III standing with a piece of paper in his hand while Donald Trump sits nearby eating noodles. “Nothing unusual, just the king eating noodles, and the waiter reading the rest of the menu,” they sarcastically commented on what was happening on the Telegram channel Vobla (104,000 views at the time of writing this analysis). Authors of many other posts jokedthat this photo could serve as a new portrait of the US President for the White House, and some bloggers came to the conclusion: “The once great British crown has become the laughing stock of the whole world.”
Similar publications appeared in Telegram channels “KB"(227,000 views), "Topics. The main thing (GlavMedia)"(194,000), "Sheikh Tamir"(107,000), "Bocharik (yep, that same one)"(98,000), "Cat Kostyan"(66,000), "The goat screamed"(63,000), "Special Operation Z"(41,000) and Nina Vatt (22,000), as well as in "VKontakte" And X. The photo also went viral in the English-language segment of the Internet: for example, some tweets received 400,000 And 500,000 views.

In mid-September 2025, US President Donald Trump arrived on a state visit to Great Britain and met with King Charles III. September 17 at Windsor Castle took place banquet for 160 persons. Noodles in menu there was none, the guests were offered other dishes:
- Hampshire watercress panna cotta with Parmesan biscuits and quail egg salad;
- Norfolk chicken and zucchini roll with spicy thyme sauce;
- vanilla ice cream filled with Kentish raspberry sorbet and lightly poached Victoria plums.
One might assume that Trump was served an exclusive dish. However, there are many available on the Internet records direct broadcasts, which show that the US President did not eat anything during the British king's speech. Moreover, from some angles It is noticeable that the plates of all banquet participants were empty during the speeches of Charles III and Trump, that is, the meal itself began later.
If you compare the viral image with the footage from the broadcast, then, in addition to Trump with noodles in his mouth, other differences can be found in them. For example, in the image being distributed, the faces of people standing behind are distorted, as well as the orders on tailcoats and the carvings on the wall. All this indicates that the original frame was processed using a neural network.

Apparently, the original source of the fake is a user of the social network X named Gary Peterson (@GaryPetersonUSA). At least on his page “Verified” found the earliest post that appeared at midnight from September 17 to 18 Moscow time and received 7 million views. "President Trump represents the best of America, and we can all watch him bring sophistication to the UK State Banquet live," the caption read.
IN profile Peterson, you can see several images of the US flag and read this description: “Patriot. Bible Reader. Santa in the shopping center. I love WOMEN! Bass player of the church band Shifty Nelson & The Dixieland Scooters, for whom America comes first." In this situation, one could consider the blogger to be a Trump supporter, but upon closer examination of his publications, it becomes clear that this is not the case. Peterson's page contains many ironic posts in which ridiculed American himself leader, his administration And supporters. Often these tweets use AI-generated images.
This blogger has faked photos more than once became viral and attracted the attention of American fact checkers. In a Snopes comment, account owner @GaryPetersonUSA statedthat Gary is actually a satirical character. “I'm a comedian on YouTube, but it's mostly about movies, so I created Gary to enjoy political humor.” told the author in conversation with the fact-checking project Lead Stories in 2024.
Note that some users picked up Peterson's joke. For example, one of them “animated” the photo, turning him in the video using the Grok chatbot.
Other users have created their own versions: for example, one option is highly detailed, another - in the form of a picture, and on the third there are noodles sticks out from the mouths of all the people captured in the frame.

Thus, the photo of Donald Trump eating noodles while King Charles III gives a speech is a fake, most likely created using AI. The author of the fabricated image is a comedian who runs a page on social network X on behalf of a satirical character. However, in the description of his profile there is no warning that his publications are of a comic nature.
