In September 2025, a few days after the murder of an American activist, information appeared on social networks that a relative of the shooter helped the Ukrainian military and talked about it on his blog. We have verified the accuracy of this news.
Reports that a close relative of Tyler Robinson, detained on suspicion of murdering Charlie Kirk, collaborated with the Ukrainian Azov Brigade began spreading on September 17. As proof, Internet users, followed by media and Telegram channels, posted a photograph in which a group of people stands with the flags of the United States and Ukraine next to the Kyiv “Motherland” monument, as well as a screenshot of a post where “Azov” is mentioned. It is alleged that Mike Robinson, who published it, is depicted in the photograph and is the uncle of the man who killed Kirk.
About the cooperation of Tyler Robinson’s relative with Azov they wrote “Russian newspaper", "Another Ukraine", "Notebook", "Constantinople" and other media, as well as Telegram channels "Ax News 2.0"(85,000 views at the time of writing this analysis), "Ostashko! Important"(79,000), Borisenko Dmitriy (70,000), Fox News Russia (45,000), etc. The news also spread to Facebook And X.

Charlie Kirk is an American conservative activist, founder and leader of the organization Turning Point USA, which is engaged in conservative agitation in American universities. It is believed that Kirk's activities helped Donald Trump gain much more youth support in the 2024 presidential election than his Republican predecessors. On September 10, 2025, an activist was shot while speaking to students in Utah and died soon after in hospital.
The alleged killer was arrested two days later, they turned out to be 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Key role in the arrest played his family. The young man's father recognized him from photographs of the suspect that authorities distributed through the media, reported his son's whereabouts and participated in negotiations for his surrender to the police.
More details in Russian about the alleged connection of Tyler Robinson's family with Azov told Telegram channel Borisenko Dmitriy. It is reported that the detainee’s father has a brother, Mike Robinson, a former special forces officer who is associated with the Radio Free Ukraine project. Likely, meaning a volunteer organization that raises funds to help Ukraine (the author of the post clarifies that this includes the needs of “Azov”). In addition, Mike Robinson allegedly runs a hidden program to recruit snipers for Ukraine, offering up to $100,000 for participation. There is no evidence for this claim in the viral posts.
Screenshot on the basis of which the conclusion was made about Mike Robinson’s cooperation with Azov, real. On September 1, Robinson wrote on LinkedIn that he was looking for people who, by the end of 2025, are ready to provide platforms for public meetings with the participation of Azov veterans in the United States and Canada. In April 2024, Robinson spoke about friends, serving in this unit, as well as about its problems with ammunition and equipment. Not a single publication mentions cooperation with Azov or participation in training snipers for the Ukrainian army.

Regarding the photo of people posing with the American and Ukrainian flags, a reverse image search resulted in original publications on the same LinkedIn page, where Mike Robinson published a photo in September 2022 (he is the fourth from the right in the photo). “I am honored to be a guest in such a wonderful country,” the caption reads. In another post two days earlier, Robinson told, which continues its mission to monitor how Ohio donations are used in Ukraine. These posts also say nothing about cooperation with Azov and the search for snipers.

On September 12, two days after Kirk was killed, Mike Robinson posted on LinkedIn there is a post about this incident, in which he recalls his service in special forces and discusses the weapon used by the criminal. The publication is accompanied by photographs of the shooter, while the author comments on his actions as an outsider.
Internet users prove Mike Robinson's alleged relationship with Tyler Robinson through a screenshot of a post by Amber Jones Robinson, the mother of Kirk's murder suspect. It is alleged that in 2017, on her Facebook page, she told how she and her children visited the place of work of a certain Uncle Mikey, and posted a photo of her two sons with weapons. Apparently, the boys in the photo are younger brothers detained, because Tyler himself was about 14 years old at that time, and the children in the photo look younger. This "Verified" post could not be found - it is likely that Amber Robinson has hidden or deleted her Facebook page.

Mike and Mikey can be either different names or a form of the same name, Michael. However, Mike Robinson, who was suspected of collaborating with Azov based on his photos on LinkedIn, uses this exact form everywhere, including on the official website organizationswhere he works. There is no other evidence of relationship other than the coincidence of the last name and, possibly, the first name. At the same time Michael - the second most popular male name in the United States over the last hundred years, surname Robinson is also one of the most common in the United States.
When Internet users named Mike Robinson as the uncle of the man arrested for Kirk's murder, he named information about their relationship with a deliberate lie aimed at damaging his reputation and endangering his life and the life of his family. In the same post, the man announced that he was looking for a lawyer and plans to file a lawsuit against the bloggers who slandered him. Robinson denied and allegations of cooperation with Azov - according to him, he has friends among the fighters and veterans of the brigade, but he did not teach them or their colleagues how to shoot.

Reports of Mike and Tyler Robinson's relationship initially circulated on Platform X. The earliest post Verified found was appeared September 14 at 08:26 Moscow time on the user page @FrauHodl. The information went viral after tweets on this topic were posted by popular pro-Kremlin blogger @MyLordBebo in X. His first publication about this has already been deleted, but the rest containing screenshots, presumably from Tyler Robinson's mother's page, are still available. @MyLordBebo often mentioned in the texts “Checked” and in debriefings international The media as a distributor of disinformation about Ukraine.
Thus, Mike Robinson has no connection to Tyler Robinson, who is accused of murdering Charlie Kirk. The only evidence of their relationship is a screenshot of the mother’s publication, in which she writes about a certain Uncle Mikey. In fact, the two men are simply namesakes. Mike Robinson denies not only any connection with the suspect in Kirk's murder, but also collaboration with the Azov brigade.
