In August 2025, photographs of leaflets with the heading “What to do if my husband beats me?” appeared on Telegram channels. and the slogan “Silence is not weakness, but wisdom.” It is alleged that they are distributed to the wives of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. We have verified the accuracy of this news.
“In Ukraine, special reminders are distributed to the wives of the Wehrmacht. They explain to women that if a military husband beats his wife, then she is to blame. Among the recommendations are to endure beatings, mask the consequences with cosmetics, ask for forgiveness, and under no circumstances make it public,” says the post on the Telegram channel “Ukraine.ru"(116,000 views at the time of writing this analysis). The publication is accompanied by a photograph of the leaflet in Ukrainian and its machine translation into Russian. Similar posts appeared in other channels, for example “Voblya • news" (116,000) and "Sheikh Tamir"(103,000). In addition, the news was discussed in “Odnoklassniki"

For participants in hostilities often develops post-traumatic stress disorder, which, among other things, can affect relationships with their family members. This problem is well known in Ukraine, where there are special support groups for military families. However, in advice, which they publish, “Verified” did not find anything similar in meaning to the content of the viral leaflet.
This leaflet contains the logo of the Ukrainian non-profit organization "Women's power of Ukraine"and a QR code that leads to the NPO website. When you click on it, a pop-up window opens with the text: “A fake leaflet is being distributed on the Internet with supposed advice to women to endure and disguise beatings, where our name / QR is used. This is fake. We have not created this and will never create it. We have been supporting military personnel and their families for over a decade and strongly condemn violence of any kind.”
The text of the leaflet also gives away a fake. Although it is written in Ukrainian, it contains errors and tracings, indicating that either the list of tips was compiled by a person who does not speak the language very well, or it was translated using an online translator. For example, the word “beating” is written in one place Right - “poboi”, and in the other it is written in Russian.
According to the TGStat service, the Telegram channel “Ukraina.ru” was the first to publish a post about the leaflet on August 12 at 14:04 Moscow time. Previously, this channel was more than once spotted V dissemination fakes about Ukraine.
Thus, the Ukrainian NGO credited with creating the leaflet denies having anything to do with it. The text itself contains grammatical errors, and it was first published by the pro-Russian Telegram channel, which has repeatedly disseminated fake news.
