In March 2025, another “Simpsons prediction” went viral on social networks: allegedly in one of the old episodes of the animated series, the US President called Russia an ally in the fight against NATO. We have verified the authenticity of the viral video.
Telegram channel «Cat Kostyan” (105,000 views at the time of writing this analysis) described the 23-second video he published as follows: “The Simpsons predicted that Trump would give Ukraine to Russia. In one of the old episodes, Trump declares Russia an ally, starts a war with NATO and gives Putin a cake with the image of the Ukrainian flag.” According to the TGStat service, at the time of writing this analysis, at least 230 similar posts had been published on Telegram, with a total of more than 1.1 million views. Among the channels that posted the video are “Bocharik (yep, that same one)"(185,000 views), "Khazin"(133,000), "Club service"(74,000), "Notepad Russia 18+"(67,000), "Club "Lev Sharansky"" (51,000), "Ramsay" (51,000), "Zaporozhye Front"(48,000), etc. "Who is our expert on The Simpsons, did such an episode really exist? - asked the question in the channel "Open Ukraine| Open Ukraine"(53,000 views). For many years, many Internet users have believed that The Simpsons can predict the future. Some (jokingly or not) claim that the show's writers are prophets, but others believe that this is nothing more than coincidence. In March 2025, the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Bashkortostan, Ainur Birgalin stated, that these could not be simple accidents: “These are not predictions, but the purposeful work of certain forces that, through mass culture, lay down certain meanings, test the reactions of society and prepare people for certain events.” Previously, “Verified” analyzed some similar predictions. Sometimes users need to create them specially slightly edited scenes from an animated series or by chance issued fan-made images for authentic footage. In addition, the authors of The Simpsons themselves several times quoted or ridiculed already happened in reality events And phenomena, but on the Internet it was perceived as a prophecy.
At the beginning of the viral video about Trump, accompanied by Russian subtitles, the facade of the house of the main characters of the animated series is shown, after which the action moves inside. There, Marge and Homer Simpson are sitting on the couch in front of the TV, watching the news. At this time, host Kent Brockman says from the screen: “Breaking news! The USA declared war on NATO. We're switching to live coverage from the White House." It then shows a cartoon version of Donald Trump speaking from the Oval Office: “...And then I thought, why do we need to fight Russia? She and I have so many rockets that together we can rule the world! Hey, don’t even look at it (the cake - Ed.), this is my gift to my friend Vladimir.” At the end, Homer commented on the news by saying, "Ha ha ha, it's a shame they didn't do that sooner."
Since The Simpsons has developed an impressive fan base over the decades, a huge number of fan pages and websites are dedicated to this animated series. For example, in the Simpsons Wiki database published more than 24,600 articles: there are still galleries, plot descriptions, character biographies and much more. On other thematic resources You can find transcripts of most episodes. However, “Verified” could not find any mention of the series about Trump declaring war on NATO on any of these portals. There is no such video on the official resources of the animated series.
However, the video shows many signs of editing and other editing. For example, in the frame with the TV presenter, it is noticeable that a certain rectangular image has been inaccurately blurred to the right of him, and traces of the blurring have also appeared on Brockman’s left shoulder, which is why its outline has become unclear. A certain “aura” is also visible around the hero himself, which is slightly different in color from the rest of the background.

Multiple artifacts in the Trump scene indicate that the sequence was created and animated using a neural network. For example, when the US President moves, some of the contours of his figure and details of his appearance become blurred and unclear, and when he speaks, parts of his lips disappear. At the moment when the character points his finger to the side, the image on the TV changes proportions and shades of colors. This list can be continued, but as Verified has repeatedly noted previously, one of the main rules when recognizing the operation of a neural network is tracking the number of fingers in an image or video. In the viral video, there are five of them on Trump's hand - everything would be correct if it weren't for this animated series, in which the characters have one on each hand. four finger (for rare except).

Additionally, Kent Brockman and Homer Simpson's voices are different from how they have been voiced for years Harry Shearer And Dan Castellaneta respectively.
Since “Verified” did not notice any strangeness in the movements of these two characters, we assumed that the footage of them could be completely or partially genuine. Using a reverse screenshot search, we determined that similar scenes with Brockman and Homer were in The Simpsons Season 22, Episode 12. This series came out aired back in January 2011. Trump was not among the heroes of the issue, but Ukraine not mentioned. In the episode, Homer gets parenting tips from an '80s sitcom while his son Bart gets involved in the nuclear trade.
At the beginning of the episode, Brockman stated that the title of his news segment, Kent's Corrections, was misspelled because the correct spelling was Kent's Corrections. The host then apologized for the mistake and the show's logo was updated. Soon after, Homer began watching an old sitcom filmed in front of a live audience, after which he joked, "Ha ha ha, everyone in that live audience is dead now."
The distribution of the edited video began on Telegram on March 20, and it was initially posted by channels that had already been repeatedly caught publishing fakes. Thus, the earliest appearance of the video among the posts that “Verified” tracked took place in the above-mentioned channel “Cat Kostyan» at 18:51 Moscow time. Subsequently, similar posts were published, for example, in the channels “Shaman Rahu"(8000 views), "Odessa for victory!" (9200) and "Shkvarka News"(2400). In the latter, there was a mark “from a subscriber” - previously, a similar clarification was found in many fake messages analyzed by “Verified”.
Thus, not one of the several hundred episodes of The Simpsons contained a scene in which Donald Trump declared war on NATO and expressed a desire to give Vladimir Putin a cake in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The viral video was assembled from edited real scenes of the animated series and frames generated by a neural network.
