In January 2025, the Russian -language segment of social networks bypassed the screenshot of Twitte, allegedly published by the candidate of US presidency shortly before the main voting day. We checked the authenticity of this screenshot.
If you believe the distributed image, on November 3, 2024, two days before the election, the US Vice President and the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Kamal Harris wrote in her account in X: “I already told my husband that on January 20, 2025 he will sleep with the next president of the United States.” After the victory in the Donald Trump elections, the alleged tweet began to look comical, and the screenshot with him bypassed social networks on the eve of the inauguration of the Republican on the indicated date.
They wrote about this Russian media, Entertainment resourcesas well as numerous Telegram channels, including "Dual"(489,000 views at the time of writing this analysis),"Dmitry Nicotin"(356 000),"Zerada"(254 000), "KB" (244,000) and 4ch (204 000).
According to site Kamaly Harris’s office, the politician has accounts in five social networks: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads And X. In the last of them, as of January 22, 2025, there were no signs of the existence of tweet, the screenshot of which spreads on social networks. There is no this post and in archival (albeit incomplete) versions of the Harris page in X from 3 And 4 November. There are no such publications in the profiles of a policy in other social networks. Moreover, this tweet of Kamaly Harris has never quoted on the English -language Internet in 2024. And this despite the fact that his alleged author is a candidate for the US president, and the case allegedly takes place two days before the election, at the peak of excitement around this event.
Moreover, according to the virus screenshot, 58,000 other X users shared the tweet, more than 65,000 were quoted, they like more than 30 million, and saw 105 million in the tape.
These are incredible figures even for the Harris page in the midst of the election race - other policies published on the same day have much more modest indicators: thousands of retweets, hundreds of citation, tens of thousands of likes. Only one tweet in the history of the account @kamalaharris Sicked More than 1 million likes - this was back in 2020.
In addition, millions of views in X are designated as M Views, not Mi Viewers, retweets (retweets) after rebranding the social network became reposts (reposts), and citation are designated as quotes rather than quote tweets.
The earliest of the discovered “checked” publications containing this screenshot were dated January 6-at 10:39 he appeared in the Russian-speaking Telegram channel “Hospital "Shark""(7000 views, 344 reposts), and a minute later in X - in the account @nav1gatore, a link to which is in the description of this channel (172,000 views, 187 reposts). In the following days, some relatively large channels shared the picture, but the main wave of the spread of the screenshot fell on the Trump inauguration mentioned on it on January 20.
Thus, the screenshot with the tweet of Kamaly Harris was falsified. There is no evidence that such a record has ever appeared on the page of a politician on the social network X, and the statistics indicated in the image by views and reactions are implausible. For the first time, the screenshot was published in the Russian -language segment of the Internet.
