In December 2024, a video spread in social networks, in which the leading news release, not noticing that the microphone has already been turned on, said that she would be shot if she had to discuss the situation in Ukraine again. We checked the reliability of this video.
In the 18-second video, which began to disperse over the network on December 6, the beginning of news release is captured. While the screensaver is going on the air, against the backdrop of music, the voice of the leader is heard: “I swear if we talk about Ukraine again today, I, on ** th, will be shot.” After that, the camera turns on and the presenter that appeared in the frame says: “Hello, welcome to Business Today, I am Michelle Fleuri.” This video appeared in many Russian-speaking Telegram channels, such as "Anatoly Shariy"(932,000 views at the time of writing this analysis),"Luke fucks"(363,000),"The world of Mikhail Onufrienko"(200,000),"Observer"(190 000),"Uncle Glory"(174 000),"Ukraine.ru"(144 000),"Sheikh Tamir"(127 000),"Not Morgenstern"(108 000). Michelle Fleuri is an American journalist and TV presenter. For more than ten years, she has been working as a BBC business correspondent in New York and sometimes keeps a daily program Business Today - Nyse Opening Bell About business news. It is the fragment of this transmission that was used in the video that is encouraged in the Russian -speaking segment of social networks.
In posts with the video, it is stated that users were the first to notice the reservation of the leading Reddit. The proof of this allegedly is that the video imposes a watermark with the logo of the platform. However, at the moment, photos and videos with Reddit are preserved without watermarks. In addition, on this platform, at the request of Michelle Fleury, there is not a single post over the past five years (and at the request of Michelle Fleuri and Michel Flores they were not found at all).
With the help of a reverse search for the images, “verified” found the original of the enclosed release of Business Today. However, between the two videos there is a significant difference. In the video that Telegram channels distributed, Fleuri appears on the screen after a six-second screensaver, during which a replica about Ukraine sounds behind the scenes. Thanks to this, it seems that the host was not ready for the fact that the microphone can be turned on before the camera earned. At the same time, there is no replica about Ukraine in the full version during the screensaver, although the host is already starting to work behind the frame: it announces the news between the screensaver and the inclusion of the camera that will be discussed in the program. This part in the hunched video was cut out.
The earliest publication with this video, which was discovered "verified", appeared in the Telegram channel "KB"(293,000 views) December 6, 2024 at 12:02 pm Moscow time. This channel was already repeatedly Noticed V distribution unreliable information.
Thus, the video dispersed in December was made on the basis of the real release of the BBC program, which was shown on the air back in May. At the same time, the video was edited, and the orderly replica about Ukraine is probably generated with the help of neural networks and was subsequently added to the sound track. This replica is not in any of the available entries in the program, and it was not discussed on Reddit, although the authors of Telegram channels refer to this site as a video source.
