The video was distributed on Telegram with the caption: “Republicans are furiously calling to stop funding for Ukraine and are purchasing advertising for this. At a bowling tournament in the United States, an advertisement appeared with the words “Stop funding Ukraine” and a link to the official website of the Republicans.” According to the TGStat service, at the time of writing this analysis, posts with videos received almost half a million views. Former President of the United States and earlier spokethat if he wins the presidential election, he plans to force Kyiv to negotiate with Moscow under the threat of cutting military aid to Ukraine.

Judging by the comments under posts on Telegram, many users had no doubt about the authenticity of the advertisement allegedly placed by Republicans at a bowling tournament. Nevertheless, “Verified” managed to find the original broadcast recording that tournament. Match between Sam Cooley and Kyle Troup took place May 16, 2021 as part of the Professional Bowlers Association Tournament of Champions. Instead of an inscription about financing Ukraine, an advertisement for an American brand was shown on the screen Manscaped.

The earliest “Verified” publication found with an edited video appeared on March 11, 2024 at 11:54 Moscow time in the Telegram channel “Sheikh Tamir" We have already refuted fakes spread by this channel. For example, in January 2024, “Sheikh Tamir” wrote, that a call to refuse financial support from Ukraine allegedly appeared on the screens at a concert of the musician Moby, however, even in that case, the video turned out to be a fake.

Thus, the video that went viral on Telegram is a fake, created based on a broadcast from 2021. The words “Stop funding Ukraine” on the video were superimposed over the logo of the American brand Manscaped using a video editor.
