Is it true that a propaganda video was released in Ukraine calling for roosters to be sent to the front?

An animated video has spread on the Internet, which talks in Ukrainian about the possibility of fighting cocks participating in the war. We checked whether such a video was created in Ukraine.

According to the authors of publications on social networks, advertisements have begun to be shown in Ukraine in which farmers are called upon to give their roosters to the front as suicide bombers. The video is accompanied by voice-over text: “Are you a farmer and ready to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine? Send your rooster to the front. We'll make a fighting cock out of him. 1000 fighting cocks can destroy enemy equipment. One fighting cock - minus one occupier. Join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

This video received the greatest distribution on Telegram - in particular, it was published by the channels “Uncle Slava"(185,000 views at the time of writing the analysis), "Three heroes and Zelensky drug addict"(156,000), "Putin on Telegram» (153,000) and Voblya (150,000).

Issues of mobilization and supply in the Ukrainian army are a frequent topic of publications in pro-Russian Telegram channels. “Verified” has repeatedly recorded cases where viral messages on this issue turned out to be false. Moreover, in recent months, Ukrainian officials have really They say about the lack of manpower at the front and, as a consequence, the need to change the rules of mobilization and military registration. Relevant bill contributed for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada at the end of 2023, later the parliament sent it for revision, and on January 30 the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense transmitted deputies an updated version of the document.

It is significant that the viral video was not distributed in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet: neither on the official websites of departments, nor in the media, nor on social networks. Almost 100% of the sources that published the video are Russian or pro-Russian resources. The situation in which a propaganda video has close to zero reach among the audience for which it was supposedly created is absurd.

The animated recording itself is of particular interest. Often It happens that people voicing fake videos are given away by a strong accent. Here there are almost no obvious errors in pronunciation, except perhaps at the very end the emphasis in the word “occupier” wrong placed on the first syllable.

If you enter the text heard in the video into the service “Google Translate” and press play, you can hear the same voice as in the viral video, only at a slower pace. If you record the speech of the built-in robot and speed it up by about a quarter, then the match of voices will be complete.

It turns out that the authors of the video, allegedly recorded in Ukraine, did not find a single native speaker of the state language with good diction and turned to the help of the automatic Google service. This approach to preparing campaign materials looks unrealistic.

The distribution of the video on the Internet began on January 26 in the Russian-language segment of Telegram. The earliest post among those discovered by “Verified” was published at 17:09 Moscow time in the channel “Za_СVОх RU_BY" Considering that the recording received less than 100 views, it is likely that it either was not the first, or the distribution of the video began from several sources at once.
