In January 2024, the Internet dispersed that one of the German preschool institutions was going to open special premises for the self -satisfaction of children. We decided to check if this is so.
The resonance initiative to organize rooms for masturbation of preschool children in kindergarten in the German city of Kerpen was told "Gazeta.ru" Eadaily, "Red spring"And other Russian media. The authors of almost all Russian -speaking publications on the creation of such rooms refer to the text in the German edition of Bild. The material says that earlier on the website of the kindergarten of St. Roha posted the concept of sexual education in this institution (later it was deleted, but, as stated, there is a copy at the disposal of Bild journalists). The article has a screenshot of a fragment of this concept, one of the points of which says: “Children are allowed to go into a protected space in accordance with their needs in order to open up and physically satisfy themselves (in public places and in the presence of other people this is not allowed).” Another thesis says: "We can clearly identify the intimate parts of the body as a penis and vagina." The remaining points of the concept in the screenshot have nothing to do with masturbation and are generally quite harmless (for example, one of them says that the children change clothes in a protected space hidden from prying eyes). However, journalists also bring other excerpts from the document: “When a small child plays with his genitals and touches them with obvious pleasure, he does not know anything about social taboos, about what actions are unacceptable, not to mention what he does [this in public] is considered indecent or dirty. He explores and learns his body. ” Also, Bild journalists say, the document notes: the child should not stop the masturbation attempts, otherwise he may have an idea that there is something wrong, bad in his body.
AND In Germany itself, And abroad Bild is often attributed to the yellow press and, judging by its main page, the publication as a whole is characterized by loud clicobite headlines that are not always fully consistent with the news content. From the formulations cited by the journalist, it does not directly follow that for the physical satisfaction of children it is planned to create special rooms or that minors' attempts to make a mastery are somehow encouraged or initiated by employees of the institution. Literally we are talking about the fact that children should not be banned, but it is worth explaining to them that it is not publicly doing this. "Verified" failed to find the official website of the kindergarten, only it page On the general portal of Catholic preschool institutions related to the Archbishop of Cologne. A PDF document with general information about kindergarten is attached there, and it can be assumed that earlier an educational concept, which included the same point of masturbation, was also available for download.
Other German media also wrote about the resonant educational concept of kindergarten in Kerpen (for example, Focus Online, RTL, T-Online And Der Westen), local officials reacted. So, the newspaper Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger Comments of representatives of the Ministry of Family of the Federal Land of the North Rhine - Westfalia, where Kerpen and deputies of the local parliament is located. They say that the initiative of the institution does not meet the state policy in the field of sexual education of children, and the creation of rooms for masturbation is completely unacceptable. In the article Bild indicatedthat Kerpen’s authorities checked the kindergarten and did not find anything suspicious, and the concept was just incorrectly interpreted-it was precisely because of the ambiguous formulations that it was removed from the page of the institution in November 2023. The Köln archbishop also claims that there was a misunderstanding and there are no rooms for masturbation in kindergarten.
This is not the first resonance news about sexual education in German kindergartens. So, at the end of June 2023 the same Bild He wrotethat in one of the Hanoverian preschool institutions, controlled by the Association of Working Welfare (AWO), it was planned to create a room for “research of the body”, where children could “caress and examine” themselves and their peers. The corresponding information letter was even sent to the parents of the pupils of the institution. The news caused a large public resonance, and the Department of Youth of the Federal Land of Lower Saxony Stopped This project, and also initiated checks of all AWO kindergartens in Hanover. Representatives of the Association said that it was a private initiative of the leadership of the kindergarten and the content of letters sent to parents with AWO was not agreed.
Thus, no real rooms for masturbation in German kindergartens were organized. The information concept for the news in the article of the Bild newspaper was the pedagogical concept of one of the preschool institutions. It was about that it is not worth forbinging children to engage in self -satisfaction, however, if the pupils show interest in masturbation, this should be done in closed spaces, and not publicly. At the same time, the document did not say that it was precisely about individual premises, which the kindergarten is supposedly going to equip for these purposes, and not, for example, about toilet booths. The local authorities in response to the resonance stated that the concept was removed from the site in the fall due to the ambiguity of the formulations, and no one was going to organize any rooms for masturbation in kindergarten, since such measures of sexual education in kindergartens of Germany are considered unacceptable.
