In November 2023, the news dispersed on the Internet that the manufacturer of the Joks “I” released a new product - birch sap under the brand “I Russian” and with the Russian flag on the packaging. We decided to check if this information corresponds to reality.

Only in one picture - where the juice lies in the basket - it is impossible to say with all confidence that it was made simultaneously with the rest, since, in addition to the juice itself and other goods selected by the buyer, it is not visible on it (although the floor covering coincides with what is displayed in the rest of the pictures). There is one more image Hands holding a box of juice, very different from the rest, however, upon closer examination, it can be seen that the picture is mounted in the photo editor, and the packaging of juice on it is identical to the author of the remaining photos and videos. There is no other visual evidence of the existence of this product, although, judging by the excitement in social networks, it is highly likely that many would like to take a photo and share it if they saw a drink in a supermarket. However, judging by the comments, none of the readers saw such juice in stores with their own eyes, only on the same distributed photos and videos. In addition, if you look closely, it is clear that under a shelf with birch juice are the price tags for cherry, orange, apple and mangoing juice - the price is not indicated on the novelty.

If you consider the upper edge of the packages of birch juice in the photographs, you can see that they look like something is glued to the front. Moreover, the stickers are placed on packages not uniformly: it can be seen that the edges of the package fall into one or the other letter of the word “Russian”, which should not be in the industrial production of packaging and passing control at the factory. The difference is also noticeable in design - the coating of a package of birch juice looks more matte than the neighboring cherry with it. The “I” logo itself is also visually noticeable, like the rest of the inscriptions on the package.


When the author of the video takes a package of birch juice from the shelf, it is clear that behind it is orange, which corresponds to the price tag on the shelf. This suggests that several fake packages with the “I Russian” juice were exhibited before the real product.
