Is it true that protesters set fire to a policeman in London?

In early November 2023, a video spread on social networks, which states the missing protesters set fire to a police officer in London. We decided to check if this is so.

During October, rallies were held around the world in support of Palestine and against the military operation of Israel in the gas sector, begun in response to the attack of Hamas militants. On November 5, a 14-second video appeared in Telegram channels, capturing the clashes of protesters with the police-as stated in London. One of the demonstrators douses the policeman with combustible liquid, and then sets it on fire. This video, in particular, published such Telegram channels as "Solovyov"(276,000 views at the time of writing this analysis),"Uncle Glory"(201 000) and Voblya (152 000).

In the first second, a policeman, who is later set fire by protesters, falls into the frame. On his right sleeve, despite the low quality of the video, a strip in the form of a flag of Mexico is clearly visible.

With the help of a google back search by images, you can find the same video on YouTube, which was posted on June 10, 2020 in the British publication account The Telegraph.

Other details are already clearly visible on this video - for example, police shields with the inscription “Guadalahara Police”.

The name of the same Mexican city is also indicated in the signature to the earliest version of this video, downloaded in Twitter June 5, 2020.

June 4, 2020 in Guadalahah occurred Serious clashes between protesters and the police. The reason for this was the death of a young man named Giovanni Lopez, detained for the absence of a mask during the period of coronaviral restrictions. Witnesses said that during the detention, the police behaved hard, and in the end, Lopez died. This tragedy led to large -scale protests, it was also reported to the wounded among the police.

Reuters' fact of the agency was also established by the exact place where the police attack took place - Huaresa Avenue, 354, not far from one of the McDonald’s, the sign of which appears in the frame.

Thus, the episode with a fabric of a policeman has nothing to do with the missing protests, or to London. This happened in Mexico three years before the new war of Israel with Hamas.
