At the end of January 2023, news about a specific offer made to potential clients by a Ukrainian reproductive medicine clinic circulated on social networks. We checked whether such an announcement actually took place.
The news was a screenshot of an advertisement for the “Alternative” reproductive medicine clinic, posted, judging by the format, on social networks. The text of the advertisement, translated into Russian, read: “There is a large selection of donors available. Only we have the reproductive tissues of Azovstal defenders. Let's revive the nation! Below, under the photo of an unknown child and symbol Regiment "Azov", contacts of the organization were indicated.
The screenshot caused a great stir in the Russian-speaking part of the Internet - from irony to criticism. Many commentators have pointed out that this approach is racist. News websites that spread the news include “Mariupol news feed", "Mriya" And E-News.su. As for social networks, on Telegram a number of publications with this information received more than 100,000 views each (on the channels “Ostashko! Important", "Sheikh Tamir", Voblya, "Uncle Slava", "Cat Kostyan"), on VKontakte - more than 10,000 (publics "Criminal Russia", "The agony of Europe - goodbye, European Union» «Mercenary's smoking room_v2.0").
Ukrainian regiment "Azov" took part in defense Mariupol metallurgical enterprise "Azovstal" from March 18 to May 20, 2022, when the last military personnel remaining on the territory of the plant surrendered. On June 29, as part of a large-scale exchange of prisoners, they returned to their homeland 43 regiment soldier, and on September 21 - another 108 (including five commanders). In Ukraine, Azovstal defenders erected to the rank of national heroes, and some received this title is official. Moreover, in Russia in 2022 the regiment was recognized terrorist organization, and its symbols were included in the list even earlier extremist. It is not surprising that any news related to it arouses wide interest among Russian information resources. The piquancy of the situation was added by the address of the clinic indicated in the contacts - UPA Heroes Street, another organization, recognized extremist in Russia.
Let's see what data is known about this organization today.
1. An institution called “Alternative”, located at st. Heroiv UPA, 73, really exists in Lviv. He has his own website and page in Facebook. The logos, as well as other technical data on the screenshot and the official pages are the same.
2. On Facebook, the organization is simply called “Clinic Alternative”, and not “Clinic of Human Reproduction “Alternative””, as in the screenshot. At the same time, the format of the visible part of the advertisement in the screenshot is exactly the same as format paid advertising on Facebook. This means that, as is customary on Facebook, the correct name of the advertised page must be indicated at the top of the advertisement.

3. Facebook allows find out when and how this page was advertised. Corresponding information about the clinic’s page “Alternative” is empty. This means that she never ordered advertising on the Facebook platform.

4. Our colleagues from the Ukrainian resource Gwara Media contacted directly to the clinic representatives for clarification. They called the advertisement fake and said that they did not give such advertisements. Moreover, according to a representative of the clinic, on Saturday, January 28, an unsuccessful attempt was made to hack the clinic’s website, apparently with the aim of posting the aforementioned fake advertisement.

5. According to our data, the first announcement on the Telegram social network (January 27 at 15:40 Moscow time) distributed the small pro-Russian channel “Shaman Rahu” did not provide the publication with a link to the original source, but limited itself to the postscript “from subscribers” - a very typical move, only in recent days noticed us in a number of fakes. Such information had never appeared on Ukrainian resources before.
Thus, there are all the signs that the advertisement of the Lviv clinic that went viral on the Internet was fabricated by people not associated with it.
