A video appeared on Telegram channels, allegedly taken from the air of the Polish TV channel TVP. It reports on the possibility of creating an LGBT military unit in the Polish army, which will only accept lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transvestites. We have verified whether this video is genuine.
On January 17, a video clip allegedly from the Polish state television channel TVP began to spread in Russian Telegram channels.Uncle Slava"(106,000 views at the time of publication), "Solovyov» (312,000), VladToday (339,000). The news was picked up by some Media, noting that in this way “Poland will become the first NATO country to form unconventional special forces.” Big resonance The news also caused news on the social network VKontakte. Users commented, that probably in this way Poland decided to “send all this evil spirits to the meat grinder.”
Most posts on Telegram link to “local Telegram channels” and provide a link to the Polish-language channel 11 Lipca (321 subscribers on the day of publication). But, judging by the time stamp of the publication (17:05, January 17, 2023), for the first time a video about Polish LGBT units appeared on Telegram-channel Yevgeny Lisitsyn, who calls himself a war correspondent. The video with the logo of the Polish television channel TVP shows a parade of Polish military personnel. The ticker and audio commentary report that “Poland can create LGBT units in the army”, which will accept only lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transvestites.
We were unable to find this news or broadcast fragment on website Polish TV channel. The video sequence, on which the ticker and audio track were superimposed, was taken from broadcasts military parade 2018. The parade was dedicated Polish Army Day, which takes place every year on the anniversary of the victory of Polish troops over the Red Army in the Battle of Warsaw on August 15, 1920. The original video contains the same TVP1 HD logo in the upper right corner as the LGBT Squad video. But there is no ticker in the broadcast - apparently, the creators of the video about LGBT people superimposed it on top of the original video.

A Google search for the key phrase “Polska może stworzyć w armii jednostki LGBT” (“Poland can create LGBT units in the army” - Polish) did not produce a single mention confirming the authenticity of the news. But there were many Polish publications Media and fact-checking agenciesrefute the information. The web page headlines clarify that this information is a product of Russian propaganda and is not true: “The Kremlin is attacking Poland. They showed a video to the army" (Wiadomosci), “Russia falsifies TVP programs” (Polsatnews), "Russian propagandists posed as TVP" (Wprost). The TVP channel itself too published refutation of the story the next day after the video appeared in Telegram channels.
It is worth noting that of all the EU countries, it is in Poland that the creation of such a detachment looks the least plausible. According to report International Association of the LGBT Community (ILGA) for 2020, Poland was in last place among 27 EU countries in terms of respect for LGBT rights and the principles of non-discrimination. In 2019 there are about 80 municipalities in Poland announced their territories as “LGBT-free zones,” drawing condemnation from the European Parliament. And in 2020, Polish President Andrzej Duda named the LGBT rights movement is “an ideology worse than communism.”
Thus, TVP’s TV story about Poland’s plans to create LGBT military units is a fake, refuted by the TV channel itself. Apparently, this fake video montage was posted by the Telegram channel “Voenkor |Z| Lisitsyn", after which it was picked up by other Russian propaganda channels.
