On the Internet you can find information that Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Prize of the World in 1939 and even received it. We decided to check if this is so.
On the Internet you can find Articles, where it is said that Hitler almost received the Nobel Prize of the World. One writethat the name of the German Fuhrer fell on the list of candidates under the pressure of Goebbels, others - that, on the contrary, Goebbels Forced Nobel Committee Cross out Hitler from among applicants. Someone believes that in this way the Nobel Committee wanted "apologize" Before Hitler, for three years earlier, the world award was awarded to Karl von Ossetsky, a German journalist who criticized the Fuhrer. "Arguments and Facts" claim That Hitler (like Mussolini) before the prize "was not enough a little bit." Write about it and on Blog-platformson ""Picabu" And on others Portals. In March 2022, the story with Hitler's nomination I remembered Politician Sergei Mironov, commenting on the nomination to the Nobel Prize of the World of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
The Nobel Prize website really has confirmation The fact that Hitler was nominated for the world award. The comments indicate: "The nomination was withdrawn on February 1, 1939 by the nominee himself - Eric G.K. Brandt, a member of the Sweden parliament, an anti -fascist who did not assume that his proposal could be taken seriously."
How did this happen? The fact is that in the same 1939 the same prize was nominated British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain-for his contribution to Munich agreement 1938, according to which Czechoslovakia was supposed to yield part of its territories in Germany. This, as they say, in the Nobel Prize website, was regarded as an attempt to prevent a war in Europe. However, not everyone evaluated the agreements with Hitler that way, and Chamberlain's nomination was perceived by many skeptical. Among them was Brandt, who three days later proposed nominating Hitler for this prize.

He applied to his proposal letterWhere I explained the choice of candidacy: “The present humbly propose to award the world of the world for 1939 by the Chancellor and Fuhrer of Germany Adolf Hitler, a man who, according to millions of people, is a person who has more than anyone in the world who deserved this highly respected reward. <...> Thanks to his fiery love for the world, previously documented in his famous book "Mine Campf" - perhaps the best and most popular book of the world after the Bible - along with his peaceful achievements - the annexation of Austria - Adolf Hitler escaped the use of strength, freeing his compatriots in the Sudetian region and making his fatherland great and powerful. <...> I would not have found a more suitable time to nominate Hitler as a candidate for the Nobel Prize of the World, if a number of Swedish parliamentarians had not nominated another candidate, namely the British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. This nomination seems poorly thought out. Although it is true that Chamberlain, thanks to his generous understanding of Hitler’s struggle for the world, contributed to the salvation of the world around the world, the last decision was behind Hitler, and not for the chamberlains! <...> Adolf Hitler, of course, is a true god with this fighter for peace, and millions of people around the world have their hopes on him as a prince of the world on earth. ”
It is difficult to imagine that Brandt, who consistently occupied an anti-fascist position, could write something like sincerely. Nevertheless irony Not everyone appreciated Brandt, and a flurry of criticism fell upon him. He gave several interviews where he explained that it was a satire, that in this way he wanted to emphasize that neither Hitler nor Chesberlen deserve this award. Just a week after the nomination, Adolf Hitler’s candidacy was withdrawn to the Nobel Prize of the World.
In fact, Hitler is far from the only dispute candidate for this prize. So, in the Nobel Prize of the world in different years, they also nominated Joseph Stalin And Benito Mussolini. Three Russians were nominated for the award of 2021, according to rumors: Vladimir Putin, Alexey Navalny And Ramzan Kadyrov (about this story, by the way, we already They wrote). It is impossible to say exactly whether it is true, since the charter of the committee prohibits the disclosure of the names of the nominees that have not received a bonus for 50 years. So, the latest data About them on the official website of the Nobel Prize - for 1970.

However, this is quite possible, since the list of those who can put forward a candidate for the Nobel Prize of the World is quite wide:
- members of national parliaments and governments, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and ministers of sovereign states, as well as the current heads of state;
- Members of the International Court of the UN and the Standing Chamber of the Arbitration Court in The Hague;
- members of the Institute of International Law;
- members of the International Council of the International Women's Union for Peace and Freedom;
-Professors of universities, Ememe-Professor, associated professors of history, social sciences, jurisprudence, philosophy, theology and religion, rector and director of universities (or their equivalents), director of the research institutes of peace and foreign policy institutions;
- Laureates of the Nobel Prize of the World;
- members of the board of directors or its equivalent for organizations that were awarded the Nobel Prize of the World;
- The current and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee;
- Former advisers to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Nevertheless, the winner chooses Norwegian Nobel Committee. It includes five people, elected for six years by the Norway parliament. It is they who decide who deserves the Nobel Prize of the World, and they certainly do this not for the sake of a joke. Therefore, Hitler, indeed, was nominated for this award, but his nomination caused such a wave of criticism and public indignation that the nominee himself withdrew this candidacy a week later. Yes, and Brandt put forward it, in his own words, as a political satire, and not because he considered the Fuhrer of the German nation worthy of this award. So Hitler had no chance to get it.
