A quote from Harry Potter was widely circulated on the Internet, where Dumbledore tells Snape that one day the Dark Lord will begin to fear for his life and will give orders through a long table. We have checked the correctness of this quote.
Twitter userspublish And repost this quote (somerecords receive thousands of likes and retweets). It also spread on Facebook: people post this text is offered with its help get distracted from the news, are surprised accuracy of JK Rowling's predictions. VKontakte users also did not stand aside (1, 2, 3). Among them was a famous journalist Ilya Shepelin.
The quote circulating on social media reads as follows:
“Now listen carefully, Severus. The time will come when the Dark Lord will begin to talk to others, separated from them by a long table.
- A long table? - Snape asked in surprise.
- Exactly. The time will come when he will begin to fear for his life and will begin to give orders from a distance of twenty meters, surrounding himself with magical protection. Then, I think, it will be possible to tell Harry.”
Users saw in this quote an allusion to several recent meetings of Vladimir Putin, at photo from which it is clear that the president is sitting on one side of a long table, and his interlocutors are on the other. Since fans of "Harry Potter" often spent parallels this book with real life (did this is even Alexei Navalny on one of his ships, and deputy Natalya Poklonskaya compared Navalny himself with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named), many did not even doubt the correctness of the quote.
However, in original (and this is a dialogue from the 33rd chapter of the book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”) it sounds a little different:
“Now listen carefully, Severus. The time will come - after my death - do not argue, do not interrupt me! The time will come when Lord Voldemort will begin to fear for the life of his snake.
- Nagini? - Snape asked in surprise.
- Exactly. The time will come when Lord Voldemort will no longer send the snake to do his bidding, but will keep it safe next to him, surrounded by magical protection. Then, I think, it will be possible to tell Harry.”
The quote about the table that spread across social networks appeared as a joke in Facebook physicist Ilya Simanovsky. There is now an update to the post that emphasizes that this is an edited version and not a quote, but many users have already spread it without attribution and so it is now attributed to the prophetic talent of JK Rowling. Although some (for example, the same journalist Ilya Shepelin) still indicate in the comments that the quote is not real.
