Is it true that Spain has officially recognized chemtrails?

News has appeared on the Internet that Spain has become the first Western country to officially recognize the use of chemical aerosol spraying over the heads of citizens, that is, chemtrails. We decided to check if this news is true.

The news appeared in Russian on the website "New News", later it was posted by users in comments on regional resources E1.ru And 72.ru. She also went viral on social media "VKontakte" And Facebook. Interestingly, the information even appeared on the portal Gogov, which, according to the speakers "Novaya Gazeta", “collects data on vaccination by region, has never been detected in falsification,” and according to information on the site itself, “all materials are written on the basis of the laws of the Russian Federation. Some of the materials are based on verified news that was confirmed by Russian federal government agencies.” The materials on these resources report that “the Spanish portal Alerta Digital published an article entitled “Four employees of the State Meteorological Agency admitted that planes spread lead dioxide, silver iodide and diatomite throughout Spain.”

All publications refer to the Spanish-language site as the primary source. Alerta Digital, which means “digital alert”. He covers events in Spain and abroad, focusing heavily on attention anti-Covid protests in different countries. The information about the site does not indicate the data of the editorial staff; all materials of the publication are anonymous, that is, they are not signed with the name of a specific journalist, but are published on behalf of the editorial office. An article about chemtrails was published on September 28, but it attracted the attention of the inhabitants of the Russian-speaking virtual space only in mid-October. It is also worth noting that the original article does not contain hyperlinks to any sources of information.

If you turn to the search, you can find out that the news has already appeared earlier, in 2015, 2016, 2017 And 2019 years. Everywhere there was talk about those same “four employees of the State Meteorological Agency.” The statement that Spain “resorted to such measures for reasons of COVID-19” appeared in mailings only recently; in previous years, of course, there was no such wording.

It is most likely that the newsletter began to spread at the end of winter 2015 - for example, there is messages dated February 16. Perhaps it appeared in messengers and social networks a little earlier. In the news dated February 16, the primary source of information is a broadcast on Cadena Ser radio dated October 4, 2014. This radio really is exists, however, there is similar news in the archive not located. The head of the radio station's scientific department, Javier Gregory, later reported, that he “did not approve” for the publication of such news, but it is impossible to exclude that similar information could have been told by some guest on the station’s airwaves.

Already in early spring the news began to actively spread on various conspiracy sites, and in May 2015 the European Parliament actually entered an open request from MP Ramon Tremosa asking whether the European Commission “can confirm that it has received a report from Spanish meteorologists.” In July he came from parliament answer (it is in the public domain): “The Commission has not received any reports from Spanish meteorologists asking for a position on this issue. The Commission investigated the matter with Spanish authorities and found no evidence of allegations relating to a military geoengineering plan to address climate change in Spain.” Tremosa himself explained, that it sent this request “at the request of various agricultural and livestock groups in Catalonia, without any prior evidence, to find out whether the European Parliament has any information.” That is, at first panic messages appeared, then the deputy made his request, and the European Parliament issued clarifications denying the receipt of such information. However, the spread of false information has not stopped.

When the mailing surfaced again in 2019, Spanish fact checkers sent a written request to the State Meteorological Agency asking for comment on this information. The agency responded that the newsletter was false, although it appears regularly on social networks. Press secretary of the organization Ruben del Campo reported, that “this is recurring disinformation, it has been around since 2014 and has resurfaced from time to time.”

It was not possible to find any information in open sources confirming that Spain recognized chemtrails. Moreover, chemtrails, or chemical traces, are a popular conspiracy theory that has no factual evidence. Conspiracy theorists call chemtrails the white traces left in the sky after a flying plane. In their opinion, they contain poisonous gases, warfare agents, viruses, bacteria, etc. Here, for example, is what is contained in chemical trails along opinion Yuri Lear, who calls himself an aviation engineer and specialist in the field of aviation, aviation and space radio electronics: “Aluminum oxides in the form of nanoparticles, arsenic, barium salts, cadmium nanoparticles. A specially dried drug made from human blood cells with a mutation towards oncology. Magnesium, mercury, mycoplasma, nano-sized polymer fibers with special inserts like a primitive radio-receiving actuator. Radioactive cesium, strontium. Undefined forms of living microorganisms such as bacteria and other things. Uranium nanoparticles. And a lot of toxins.”

However, the explanation for these white marks is much more simple: an airplane engine emits exhaust gases into the air (any other engine, for example a car, acts in the same way), the gas is hot, and the surrounding air is cold, so white condensation forms. A similar phenomenon can be observed when a car engine is running in severe frost. An airplane's condensation trail simply stays in the sky longer.

It is worth noting that fact checkers different countries already sorted it out many other conspiracy emails about chemtrails.

Thus, the news that Spain has recognized chemtrails is an old fake, reworked to suit the new coronavirus realities, and the theory of chemtrails has no scientific basis.
