Some social media users believe that the Ever Given was transporting children for subsequent imprisonment in sexual slavery, and the former first lady of the United States was in charge of the transportation. We checked whether this accusation is justified.
March 23, 2021 container ship Ever Given ran aground in the Suez Canal, thereby paralyzing traffic along one of the main water transport corridors. While economists and businessmen calculated the damage from the traffic jam, some Facebook users discussed Another problem with this ship is the illegal transportation of children. According to indirect evidence, the authors of these publications tied up possible crime involving former First Lady and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The assumption of Clinton's connection with the Ever Given is based on two premises. Firstly, the ship is owned by Evergreen Marine Corporation. The first word in this title coincides with the code name that the US Secret Service gave Clinton (she herself confirmed this fact in 2008). Secondly, call sign this vessel is H3RC, and the initials of Hillary Rodham Clinton's full name are HRC. It was not possible to find any other arguments or evidence to support the accusation made.
Posts like these linking Clinton, the Suez Canal ship, and child trafficking are entirely in keeping with the spirit of QAnon. Proponents of this conspiracy theory are sure in the existence among the American and global elites of a sect of pedophiles who organized a worldwide network for the transportation and sexual exploitation of children. Hillary Clinton is perhaps the most frequently mentioned politician allegedly involved in running this network.
As for the arguments presented in the situation with the Ever Given, they can be called strained at best. Evergreen Company founded in 1968 - the future first lady was then still studied in college and didn’t know exactly that years later she would receive a code name from the intelligence services and what it would be. The ship received its call sign H3RC in accordance with the rules that approved International Telecommunication Union, a specialized agency of the UN. According to these rules, the call signs of ships registered in Panama begin with H3.
At the same time, there is no reason to believe that very conditional coincidences say at least something about the real connection between phenomena. None of the international organizations dealing with issues of human trafficking and exploitation have made statements in connection with the Suez Canal incident. We were unable to find any relevant press releases from the Egyptian police or reports from other courts. There are no statements from witnesses who saw children on the ship, or from parents of missing children who suspect the ship was carrying them. Evergreen representative reported USA Today that the container ship, built in 2018, does not and cannot carry any illegal cargo, and the company “does not and has not had any ties” with Hillary Clinton.
